TICKLING THE IVORIES OF YOUR MEMORY

When my daughter complained I was turning into a record hoarder, I realized I needed to do something. So after entirely lining both sides of one of my hallways with framed vinyl record albums, people started coming over, and bringing others over, just to study the walls. They were reconnecting with their past through the music, triggered by the album art, and sharing that with others. I liked that.

Problem was, I still had a lot of records. Also collecting vintage clothing, home decor and odd pieces of anything that caught my eye, it was time to find a way to purge and merge these collections. Whether selecting just the right pieces, the right shade of color, the appropriate gluing schedule, an artist or record, doing the research, or trying to make a sale, the process has sometimes been excruciating. But I've learned to appreciate the effort put forth by artists during, and after creation.

So let me tickle your ivories with a stroll through my shop. RetroRecordArt of Las Vegas is constantly evolving, now utilizing vintage CDs, 45s, cassettes, movie discs, and reels, combined with shoes, vintage home decor, jewelry and... just about anything. Most materials I use are found, upcycled, and repurposed into a unique pieces of art that cannot be duplicated, even by me. Custom requests are welcome!
